Our School’s Story
Judie Batt Yarnell and Roy Yarnell founded the Batt School in 1988. The school provides educational programs in a comfortable, welcoming, and stimulating setting, enabling each child to develop to his or her fullest academic, social, and emotional potential. We guide our students toward becoming good citizens, kind and honest human beings, and responsible leaders. Our private one-on-one teacher-to-student ratio enables us to provide optimally challenging curriculum and address the individual spirit of each child. Our goal is to create an environment where children develop a love of learning. In a small, nurturing educational environment, children will develop empathy, thoughtfulness, and consideration for others. They will develop the ability to form close friendships and learn honesty when dealing with themselves and others. Effective leaders are molded by self-discipline, appreciation of the value of hard work, and the resulting sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. We are dedicated to the continuous pursuit of excellence in education for each child with whom we are entrusted.
ADMISSIONS
The Batt School welcomes parents to visit the school and apply for admission year round. We do not discriminate based on race, national or ethnic origin, gender, or religion in administration of our educational or admissions policies.

Letter to Parents
Success in school and beyond depends upon the ability to think and write clearly and effectively. With that goal clearly in mind, the curriculum at The Batt School has been developed with an eye toward our students’ future. Beginning as early as prekindergarten, our students are introduced to skills they will need again and again throughout their school careers. Critical reading and thinking, problem solving and analysis, and deductive reasoning are an integral part of the Batt School’s learning program.
Batt’s high academic standards in all disciplines assure that students will not simply score well on tests but will excel in the real world.
We believe that the partnership that exists between our parents and our school, combined with a challenging curriculum, highly qualified staff, and involved administration, makes The Batt School an excellent scholastic foundation for any child.
